According to reports in Italy, Atalanta are on the verge of a €3.5m deal for Heerenveen midfielder Michel Vlap.
Their interest in the 22-year-old goes back a couple of months, but Tuttomercatoweb claim the two clubs have been able to whittle down the €4m asking price via negotiations.
Vlap has three caps for the Netherlands at Under-21 level and this season contributed an impressive 17 goals with six assists in 38 club appearances.
He is a creative midfielder in the trequartista mould, but can also play wide left.
Atalanta need more strength in depth now that they have qualified for the Champions League.
