CL: Italians await last 16 draw

Juventus might face Real Madrid already in the last 16 of the Champions League, as Napoli and Atalanta will be up against experience at the next hurdle.

The Champions League draw for the last 16 takes place at 11:00 GMT.

Juventus qualified as group winners, meaning they would meet one of the teams ending second in the other groups.

That gives them the possibility of facing Real Madrid already in the last 16 of the tournament, as former Bianconeri Zinedine Zidane’s men ended second behind Paris Saint-Germain in their group.

Juventus have already played Los Blancos 21 times and have lost 10 times to the Spanish giants, winning nine of their previous matches.

The Bianconeri could also draw Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Tottenham in the first knockout round.

Atalanta have passed the first hurdle on their first attempt but are faced with a challenge against a team with great experience in the next round.

The Dea are new to this phase and haven’t played any of their possible opponents previously but could face former winners like Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the next stage.

The reigning European champions Liverpool, who played Napoli in the group stage, might also be visiting Bergamo next year.

Napoli went through thanks to a 4-0 win against Racing Genk in their last round of the group stage and will be faced with another tough challenge.

They’ve got four champions from their respective leagues in their pool, with Spanish giants Barcelona, German holders Bayern Munich and English champions Manchester City.
