There are conflicting reports on Mauro Icardi’s situation, as some point to Napoli, others that he’ll leave for nobody except Juventus.
The striker was given yet another push towards the exit yesterday when new signingRomelu Lukaku was given his Number 9 jersey.
Antonio Conte, director Beppe Marotta and President Steven Zhang have all stated publicly that there will be no change of heart, as Icardi is not part of their plans for this season.
The Corriere dello Sport claims today that Icardi and specifically wife/agent Wanda Nara have sent a message to Napoli that they are ready to make the move to the Stadio San Paolo.
However, Tuttosport suggests Wanda is urging Juventus director Fabio Paratici to step forward and begin genuine negotiations for the striker.
Roma are also making an approach, ready to offer Edin Dzeko plus €40m to Inter, but the Argentine does not seem prepared to accept anyone expect Juve.
Yet Inter have no intention of sending Icardi to their arch-rivals unless they receive Paulo Dybala in exchange, as the feud between the two clubs intensifies.
The situation will reach a head over the next couple of weeks, as Inter cannot risk keeping a star player in the stands, especially considering his contract is due to expire in June 2021.
