Roberto D’Aversa saidParma made the Juventus fans “clearly nervous”towards the end and Dejan Kulusevski has great potential.
The Ducali put up quite a fight in Turin, as Cristiano Ronaldo scored either side of an Andreas Cornelius header, then Wojciech Szczesny had to make some tricky saves late on.
“We made too many cheap mistakes in the first half and allowed Juventus to always win the ball back quickly. We did better after the break and the big disappointment is that we were naïve on the two goals, while we had chances to equalise too,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We knew it was important to change the play rapidly and we didn’t do that anywhere near enough. Having said that, Juventus have enormous potential, are top of the table, so the fact Parma made the Juventus Stadium crowd clearly nervous at the end speaks volumes about our performance.
“Dejan Kulusevski is very young and I don’t feel like putting too much responsibility on him, but I am sure he’s the first not to be satisfied with his performance. Nobody is, because we lost.
“In technical terms, I can guarantee that Kulusevski is a very talented player. He averages 12-13km per game, has scored quite a few goals, provided assists.
“He is young and in the last few matches tried to play too frenetically, almost as if he was trying to prove he was worth the transfer fee, but he needs to do what he’s always done and enjoy his football. I think Juventus signed him both to be a trequartista and also potentially in midfield too.”
This result means Parma are caught by Milan on 28 points in joint seventh place.
“Every time we miss several key players at the same time, it puts under immense pressure and we are spread rather thin. Unfortunately, Roberto Inglese took such a long time to recover and today got hurt again.
“I believe that without all these injuries, Parma can do even better in the second half of the season.”
