Milan want director Paolo Maldini to remain at the club, despite Zvonimir Boban being fired yesterday.
Boban was officially given his marching orders yesterday following an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he was critical of the decisions made by the Elliott Management group, who own the Rossoneri.
Boban accused the American company of “going behind our backs,” in speaking to German coach Ralf Rangnick about joining the club next season.
Tuttosport reports that Elliott would like Maldini to stay at the club, despite Boban’s sacking.
However, the Turin daily remarks that Maldini hasn’t spoken to CEO Ivan Gazidis as of yet.
Tuttosport remarks that Maldini is “tired” of the situation and, furthermore, won’t take orders from Rangnick should he arrive.
It looks increasingly likely that the former captain will leave the club at the end of the season.
