Handanovic out for 3-4 weeks?

There are reports Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has fractured his finger, so could be out of action for three weeks, missing big games with Milan and Lazio.

The shot-stopper did not play inlast night’s 2-0 win away to Udineseand there is still no official word on the extent of this injury.

He was spotted wearing wool gloves rather than goalkeeping gloves, with the little finger on his left hand seemingly immobilised by a splint.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Handanovic has fractured that finger and will be out of action for three to four weeks.

This would mean missing big games against Milan, Lazio, Sampdoria and Ludogorets in the Europa League.

If this is confirmed, then Inter hope to have their captain back for the Scudetto showdown with Juventus on March 1.

There are also reports the accident occurred during an Inter training session just hours before the transfer window shut on Friday.

It meant there was no time to find a replacement, as Ionut Radu – who had been on loan at Genoa – had already been sent back out on loan to Parma.

Tommaso Berni was suspended for last night’s Udinese match, so Inter played Daniele Padelli, who hadn’t featured in Serie A since August 2016.
