Inter have the upper hand ahead of the Derby della Madonnina against Milan on Sunday and are aiming to set new records against a confident Rossoneri in the middle of a revival.
Week 23 gives us the 171st Serie A edition of the classic Milan Derby, 201st in all competitions, and the two sides are separated by 19 points ahead of the match.
Inter, who are currently second behind Juventus in the League, are the home side when they play the Rossoneri in the stadium they both share on Sunday.
Antonio Conte could become the first manager in the Nerazzurri history to win his two first derbies without conceding a goal.
They are currently aiming for their fourth consecutive win in the Derby della Madonnina, a feat the Nerazzurri haven’t achieved since their run of five on the bounce in 1985.
The reverse fixture on September 21 ended in a 2-0 win, after goals by Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku, and on Sunday could prolong their unbeaten run of seven Serie A meetings with their arch-rivals.
Inter are only two matches away from equalling their best home run from 1938, when Inter went 10 games against the Diavolo without losing.
But Milan could take confidence from some great statistics from their meetings with Inter in this calendar month. The Rossoneri have only lost twice in 14 games against Inter when playing in February.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic back in their ranks, they have been inspired to turn around a poor start to the campaign.
The former Sweden international has helped raise the team’s level and the Rossoneri are picking up 2.5 points per game with Zlatan in the side, so his record against Inter will only help their belief.
The 38-year-old, a former Inter player, currently has five goals in seven games against the Nerazzurri. He has scored twice since his return to San Siro and has only started three games for the Rossoneri this term.
There are great expectations when Zlatan comes up against one of his former teammates at Manchester United, as Inter forward Romelu Lukaku has already scored against Milan in his first try.
With another goal on Sunday, the Belgium international would become the sixth player who has scored in his first two derbies against Milan.
Ibra is ironically enough on that list for Inter, along with Youri Djorkaeff, Ronaldo, Diego Simeone and Diego Milito
