Inter and Cagliari continued negotiations for Nicolò Barella and a deal could be done for €35m plus Alessandro Bastoni.
The 22-year-old midfielder was also targeted by Juventus, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but seems intent on a move to San Siro.
According to Sportitalia, the talks resumed today with director of sport Piero Ausilio and Cagliari chief Marcello Carli.
Inter are trying to offer cash plus young players in exchange, but so far the Sardinians have rejected the various options.
It’s reported they will be prepared to accept €35m cash plus 20-year-old central defender Bastoni, who is currently on loan at Parma.
Sky Sport Italia suggest Inter could offer €35m in a fixed sum, plus another €15m in various performance-related bonuses, with Bastoni on loan.
