Lautaro Martinez has handed a boost to Inter fans by declaring that the club is “my home”.
Martinez has exploded into life for Inter this season, scoring 13 goals in just 19 games, but his form has inevitably seen him linked with sides such as Barcelona and Manchester City.
Nonetheless, he told Sky Sport Italia: “Inter is my home.
“For me, they’re something very important. The fans are always kind to me, I find that fantastic.
“I try to work with humility and show I’m worthy of this shirt. I want to give the Nerazzurri fans and my family as much joy as possible.
“I’m always focused when I go out on the field, already with my head focused on the game at hand.
“I’m happy with what I’m doing. It’s also a matter of luck, of course, but we must never forget any details at any time during the match.
“I’ve always trained to be ready. The coach’s tactics have helped me, but he treats everyone the same way so each of us must train to the maximum in order to play.
“We’ve clicked with Lukaku, he’s also a fantastic guy off the field. Our objectives is to score as many goals as possible to help the team.”
The Argentina striker was then asked how much of an impact Antonio Conte had on his prolific start to the season.
“He’s giving me great confidence, he tells you things as they are, like [Argentina CT] Scaloni. That lets you grow day after day.
“Both coaches analyse details, which let you grow physically and mentally. This year with Conte, he’s helped me do great work and it’s being seen on the pitch.”
