Le Parisien claims Qatar Sports Investment are ready to scale back investment in PSG and purchase Roma because of Champions League failures.
The French newspaper maintains the Emir of Qatar and investors are unimpressed with the lack of progress in Europe, despite the huge amount of money funnelled into Paris Saint-Germain.
It is even suggested that he sees their disappointment as “harmful to his image” on the world stage.
At the same time, QSI (Qatar Sports Investment) are said to be in negotiations to take over Roma from President James Pallotta, or at the very least invest in them via a large sponsorship deal.
Roma aren’t the only side on the radar, as the Qatari investors are also looking at several clubs in the English Championship – their version of Serie B.
There is a growing frustration with the huge tax bill that comes from France and the thought PSG earn money for the rest of Ligue 1 through the sale of TV rights, despite being treated with disdain by the likes of Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas.
