Monaco and Napoli are both prepared to pay €65m for Mauro Icardi, it’s reported, but the Inter striker is still refusing to leave, despite Wanda Nara’s pleading.
According to Sky Sport Italia, his wife and agent has finally realisedthe situation is counter-productiveand it would be unwise to remain at Inter without playing.
She had direct contact with Inter director Beppe Marotta today and they are all trying to convince the player to accept the idea of leaving San Siro.
Monaco and Napoli have both put forward €65m proposals, which the Nerazzurri would accept, but Icardi is still keeping the door slammed shut.
It’s reported Monaco are even offering a €10m per year salary, higher than the €8.5m from Napoli.
Monaco need a forward because Radamel Falcao is pushing for a transfer to Galatasaray.
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims this evening that Inter are even prepared to offer Icardi a one-year contract extension, which would allow him to leave on loan without the risk of losing him for free.
However, this would have some very specific clauses ruling out certain clubs from the loan deal, for example Juventus.
Atletico Madrid are interested, but the race seems to be between Monaco and Napoli.
