Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin admits the players are split in their opinions on the resumption of Serie A: “Some want to start, others are afraid.”
The Juventus loanee returned to the Marassi in January and had kept three clean sheets in nine games since he reclaimed the starting position at Genoa.
As the season is at a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak, Perin admits the players are split in their views as teams reappear at the club’s facilities to resume individual training.
“Mentally nobody pulled the plug completely,” he told Locker Room. “We have trained at home.
“We have different ideas, though. Some would like to start again, others are afraid. I miss football a lot. I would like to resume, but health needs to come first.
“The protocols are being made to protect us all. We know that there will be small cases if we start again, the important thing will be knowing how to manage the situation like in Germany.
“The fundamental importance will be the factor of responsibility. Taking responsibility for the lives of others weighs on anyone.
“And the eventual recovery will be a succession of problems that will lead to many costs for the clubs, who are already losing a lot.”
