Rino Gattuso could welcome back up to four players to his squad as the Partenopei travel to face Sampdoria.
Gattuso confirmed during his press conference that defender Nikola Maksimovic will return to the squad following a five-game absence.
Kalidou Koulibaly may also make a return following his own lengthy absence, but the 28-year-old is expected to be assessed on the day of the game.
Dries Mertens and Allan are also expected to return following layoffs.
Allan has been out of action with muscle fatigue for the last few games, whilst Mertens has missed the last four games through injury.
Fabian Ruiz was also confirmed by Gattuso as missing the game via illness. The Spaniard hasn’t trained in four days, according to Gattuso.
New signing Stanislav Lobotka is expected to replace Fabian Ruiz at the heart of the Neapolitan midfield.
Sampdoria meanwhile will be without the injured Alex Ferrari, Edgar Barreto and right-back Fabio Depaoli.
Ex-Napoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli could be in line for a start against his old side.
Naples local Fabio Quagliarella is expected to start up front alongside former Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini.
New signing Maya Yoshida is expected to be on the bench for the home side following his switch from Southampton.
