Former Ajax midfielder Lasse Schone says he is loving life at Genoa and playing in ‘beautiful’ Serie A.
Schone surprisingly swapped the Champions League semi-finals and a Dutch title with Ajax for a Genoa side in transition, but the Dane insists he was right to make the move.
“I didn’t plan to leave Ajax,” the 33-year-old was quoted as saying by ANSA.
“I thought I’d look around and see if there could be a new challenge for me.
“Genoa immediately gave me good feelings. My wife and I think Italy is a great country, we’ve often gone there on holiday and we found a wonderful culture.
“Playing in Serie A is an advantage. It wasn’t easy at first, but once I got used to it, it was beautiful.
“For now, things are going very well.”
