Francesco Totti could miss out on his Roma promotion as Lille’s Luis Campos will reportedly become the Giallorossi’s next recruitment chief.
According to Il Messaggero, Roma President James Pallotta has gone with the recommendation given to him by advisor Franco Baldini.
Although it is not clear whether Campos will be appointed sporting director or brought in as a transfer consultant, it would represent a blow to Totti.
The club’s former No 10 had been linked with becoming technical director, phasing out Baldini’s influence.
With Ricky Massara currently interim sporting director, it remains to be seen whether ‘Er Pupone’ will lose or gain power in the new set-up.
Campos, meanwhile, has been credited with Lille’s revival as a force in Ligue 1 this season thanks to his work in the transfer market.
He previously worked at Monaco and alongside Jose Mourinho as a scout for Real Madrid.
